Have you ever had Bang Bang Shrimp? A restaurant near me serves it as an appetizer and it is one of my favorite things! It’s a little sweet, and a little spicy, and totally delicious. By now you all know how much we love sliders here at Home. Made. Interest.. They are the perfect summertime party food and my family loves making a meal out of them on warm summer nights. The last time I had Bang Bang Shrimp I realized that it would make an amazing summer appetizer sandwiched between two sweet slider buns. OMG, was I ever right! These easy Bang Bang Shrimp Sliders are out of this world good and I know they are going to be a hit at all of the summer parties this year!

The recipe for Bang Bang Shrimp Sliders is simple to make from start to finish. The first thing you need is the shrimp. To make my life as easy as possible I use SeaPak Popcorn Shrimp (find it near you). I always have a pack or two of SeaPak products in my freezer for those nights when I need a little help getting dinner on the table. It’s especially handy during the summer when the kids and I want to maximize our time playing at the pool. I don’t have to pack up early to go home and make dinner. I can chillax at the pool and then head home, pop some shrimp in the oven, saute a few summer veggies and dinner is served. The USDA recommends eating at least two 4-ounce servings of seafood each week and shrimp, is a delicious way to meet that goal. SeaPak is a great way to introduce it to your kids. Even my little picky eaters love it!

While the SeaPak Popcorn Shrimp is in the oven baking it’s on to step two, Bang Bang Sauce. I use a really simple copycat Bang Bang Shrimp recipe that tastes just as good as the original. It’s a mix of sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and mayonnaise that you whip together. Place about 4 tablespoons of sauce to the side. When the shrimp comes out of the oven and has cooled for about 5 minutes you place it in a bowl and pour the Bang Bang Sauce over it tossing the shrimp with it gently until it is thoroughly coated. Now you have Bang Bang Shrimp and you’re going to have to resist the urge to start eating it straight from the bowl!

I like to pair some fresh ingredients with my SeaPak seafood and these sliders are no exception. I make a really simple red cabbage slaw to go on top of the shrimp. It is just salt, pepper, mayo, and fresh red cabbage. It adds a nice cool crunch to the sliders that goes really well with the sweet and spicy shrimp. I spread that little bit of extra Bang Bang sauce over the slider buns, top them with the Bang Bang Shrimp, and finish them off with a cool red cabbage slaw for the ultimate summer dinner that is made for eating outside on the deck with a big glass of lemonade!
