Alright guys, today I’m sharing a few last minute ideas for Father’s Day with a recipe for a Citrus Moscow Mule that is sure to put a smile on Dad’s face! My husband is notoriously hard to shop for. He’s into tech stuff but I’m no expert and by the time I know he wants something he’s usually already ordered it for himself. This year I found the perfect gift when I least expected it. I was shopping at Pier 1 (I’m kind of addicted to that place!) and I found these awesome copper mugs. Well actually I found a whole section full of gorgeous copper drinkware and tableware and I fell in love.
My husband has been really into Moscow Mules lately. If you aren’t familiar with a Moscow Mule it is a cocktail made with high-quality vodka, a spicy ginger beer, and lime juice, served in a copper mug. It’s super trendy and there are so many delicious recipes out there. So, as an excuse to buy some gorgeous copper pieces I’m planning a simple Father’s Day brunch for my husband with a special Citrus Moscow Mule recipe just for him.
Pier 1 had everything I needed to set a beautiful table including hammered copper silverware, rattan chargers, plates, and glasses. I used large leaf placemats in the center of the table over top a jute and moss table runner. In the center of the table is a hammered pitcher along with the mule mugs on a galvanized tray. I used an oversize succulent sphere to tie in the green from the table onto the tray and I placed the tray on a beaded square placemat. I love the added texture that the layering adds to the table. I wanted something that gave the table a little height and these metal bamboo pillar stands and distressed green LED candles were perfect.
Since this is a Father’s Day brunch I want to keep everything pretty but masculine and I think the leaves and rattan textures worked perfectly. I chose lemon leaves placemats, dark rattan chargers, green dinner plates and a salad plates with a pattern. I fell in love with these stone napkin rings and new I had to have them so I chose a simple buffet green napkin to compliment the napkin ring. In the end I loved the rich, tropical feel of the table.

Instead of just a little lime juice I’ve mixed lime, grapefruit and a splash of orange liqueur together with my husband’s favorite ginger beer and vodka for a brunch Moscow Mule that mommy and daddy are both going to enjoy.
I even made my hubby a Father’s Day Moscow Mule kit. It’s everything he needs to make my Citrus Moscow Mule, in this beautiful hammered beverage tub. Finally a Father’s Day gift I know he’s going to appreciate!
- 2 oz Ginger beer
- 1.5 oz Vodka
- 1 oz Orange liqueur
- 0.5 oz Lime juice, fresh squeezed
- 0.5 oz Grapefruit juice, fresh squeezed
- Lime and grapefruit wedges for garnish
- Squeeze your lime and grapefruit juice into the mug.
- Add desired ice.
- Add orange liqueur, vodka, and ginger beer.
- Stir to mix.
