Little Diva Sprinkle!
We threw a pretty, pink, Diva Sprinkle to welcome a new little princess into the world!
After Melinda wrote her First Year Must Haves for Mom and Baby post yesterday we took a little trip down memory lane. Little Miss Harper is 2 now (how did that happen so fast?!) and I can still remember how excited we (me and our friends Jen and Melissa) all were when Melinda found out she was having a little girl. Not that we wouldn’t have been happy if she was having another adorable baby boy, but…we all love a little bling, lots of pink, and maybe a little leopard print (don’t judge!).

Melinda’s first shower was a huge event with tons of family and friends, since this was her second time around we got to be in charge of throwing her a small, but fun, sprinkle. We knew right away we wanted to make it about pampering mommy and welcoming a new little princess, so I created a trendy invite (Melinda was in her chevron phase) and we invited a small group of friends to come celebrate.
You know we went all out right? And of course Melinda helped plan her shower because she and I are a team and that’s how we roll….or maybe it is because we’re so Type A that we always need to be in control…let’s stick with the team theory, it sounds better. We had so much food! Our appetizers were: Tortellini Caprese Skewers with a balsamic reduction similar to these, Roast Beef Crostini which inspired these and these, Shrimp and Greek Yogurt on Cucumbers, Chicken Salad & Chicken Artichoke Bites, and one of my favorites, Sun Dried Tomato, Pesto and Garlic Bites. We’re have an obsession with bite-size appetizers!
Dessert was an Ombre Rose Cake made by yours truly, Strawberry Mousse, Cream Cheese Stuffed Strawberries, and Petit Fours. I wish we had been blogging back then and had more pictures. We had such a good time together making all of the decoration ahead of time. We made different size pink, white (buy them instead here), and leopard print tulle pom poms or you can buy them here, and a really pretty rose ball out of pink crepe paper, and our favors were pink tutu favor bags with homemade fizzy bath bombs or just buy them if you need to save time here, loofahs, and of course chocolate.
Everything was so good and we all had so much fun oohing and ahhing over adorable baby clothes and accessories. I can’t believe it has been 2 years…and now Melinda has a sassy 2-year-old who loves to give “huggies” and has more jewelry than I do. Love that kid!

This is so cute! I remember when my cousin had her first child, who is 2 1/2. Our party had many of the same decor. Cute idea!
Awww..how lovely to take that trip down memory lane 🙂
Gorgeous party, such a special way to celebrate the impending arrival.

So cute I have a friend who this would be perfect for, pinned it!
