What You Will Need To Make This Summer Fruit Salad
I love that you can easily and quickly make an insanely delicious fruit salad, and it only requires a handful of ingredients.
- Strawberries – You can slice or dice them if you prefer that texture.
- Grapes – We like to use a mix of green and red grapes for color. We also cut our grapes when we know there will be younger kids are eating them, so they don’t choke.
- Blueberries – They give life to the salad with lots of brilliant colors.
- Cantaloupe – We love to serve the fruit salad in a halved cantaloupe rind. You could also use the honeydew rind or even watermelon too. It gives the fruit salad some fun character.
- Pineapple – You can use fresh pineapple or canned pineapple chunks. Just make sure to drain the juice if you use canned!
- Frozen Lemonade Concentrate – The lemonade doesn’t just keep the fruit from turning brown; it gives it a mix of sweetness and tartness that is positively scrumptious.

Fruit Salad Variations
Having variety in recipes gives you lots of options to adjust the flavors and even the texture in some cases. This lemonade fruit salad is a prime dish to adjust based on your preferences. While I love everything about this easy fruit salad, I will add in some extra fruit when I am in the mood. Or if we have something that is going to go bad if we don’t get it used up. Here are some of the things we have tried and enjoyed:
- Bananas
- Blackberries
- Raspberries
- Kiwi
- Mandarin Oranges
- Mango
- Peaches

- Watermelon
- Apples
Absolutely you can make this lemonade fruit salad for a crowd. Our recipe makes six servings, so you will need to figure out how many people you are feeding. Then you can adjust the number of servings in our recipe card. It’s so awesome because when you increase or decrease the number, the ingredients will automatically adjust for you. This will save you a headache or trying to figure out how much you need.
I have found when you feed this summer fruit salad to a large group; they go wild for it. I think it’s because it looks so fabulous with all the vibrant colors. Then once they taste how sweet and tangy it is, they can’t resist going back for more. So I recommend making a little bit extra than what you need.
Typically this lemonade fruit salad recipe will last in the fridge around 3-4 days. Because the lemonade prevents browning of the fruits, it helps it last a little longer. If you use bananas I suggest leaving them out until you are ready to serve and then adding them in last minute.
It’s important to always keep the fruit salad really cold and in the refrigerator or on ice if it’s going to be setting out long. For potlucks and parties, it is a great idea to put in a bowl or container with another bowl or container underneath it that has ice in it. This will keep it fresh and chilled, and you won’t have to worry about it going bad. There is nothing worse than a hot, soupy fruit salad.
You may be surprised by this answer, but YES you can freeze fruit salad. And it is excellent! To freeze fruit salad, either put it in one large container if you are planning to use it all at once or individual servings for a quick snack.
It’s important that you get all the air out if you are using freezer bags. And it’s equally important to keep it airtight. If you don’t do this, it will become freezer burnt and develop lots of ice crystals on top. Usually, the lemonade fruit salad will last around 3 months in the freezer. This makes it easy to take out what you need and always have some on hand. It’s a game-changer!
The best part about freezing the fruit salad is that it tastes so good when it’s frozen. When you are ready to serve it, all you need to do is place it on the countertop for 20 or 30 minutes then dig in. It will have a slushy and frozen texture that is amazing.
Another thing you can do with the frozen fruit is put it in your blender and turn it into a smoothie for a snack or breakfast. Feel free to add in some spinach or veggies for even more nutrients.

Fruit salad is one of my favorite foods. The lemonade addition sounds intriguing.
And it keeps the fruit from turning brown, bonus!
This looks so refreshing and delicious! Thanks for linking up to Link Party Palooza – hope your weekend is great!
Could you double the fruit and have enough lemonade with 1 can? Afraid 2 cans would be too syrupy. Sounds delish!
I think you’d be fine doubling the fruit but not the lemonade.
Curious…do you think limeade would be yucky? I have limeade on hand.
Not at all! I think that would be delicious and work just as well.
Can I make this the night before?
Yes! The lemonade keeps the fruit fresh so you can make this the night before.
