10 Savory Stew Recipes
I can’t imagine anything better than a hearty robust stew this time of year. I’ve put together 10 Savory Stew Recipes that will warm the heart and put a smile on your face.
One of my favorite parts of Fall, other than the weather, holidays and family gatherings, is the FOOD! Fall is full of flavorful, hearty meals, that you can’t enjoy in the Summer months. Warm savory stews are one of my favorites. Cleaning my plate with homemade Portuguese bread is the best.

How do you celebrate Oktoberfest? This year I’ll be celebrating with this Oktoberfest Lager Stew with sausage, potatoes, caramelized onions and golden cabbage.
This is a cross between French onion soup and French beef stew. This French Country Short Rib Stew is full of succulent short rib beef, onions, garlic and topped with my favorite, Gruyère cheese.
Stews don’t have to be full of meat to be delicious. This Creamy Root Vegetable Stew is thick, cheesy, and full of flavor with a tad of spice.
Make a big batch of this Beef Stew and freeze it for up to a month in the freezer! Leftovers would be great for lunch too.
One of my favorite sandwiches is a Philly cheesesteak. Who doesn’t love meat and cheese? This Philly Cheesesteak Stew sounds perfect for Fall. I can even see this as a game day hit!
Here’s a nutrient-packed Hearty Lentil and Quinoa Stew. Vegan and vegetarian friendly too.
Lamb is so under-rated. When cooked properly, it’s full of flavor and tender. This is where my homemade Portuguese bread comes into play. Sopping up the sauce in this Basque Lamb Stew is a must!
This Hunter’s Chicken Stew is a family favorite. It can be made with many variations. Serve it over rice, pasta or add some veggies to keep it low carb.
Bourbon, pancetta, pork butt and apple cider– sounds like a winner to me! This Pork Stew is on my do-to list for sure.
This simple Winter Beef Stew is made in a slow cooker and served in a bread bowl. Delicious and easy clean up!
