Our Best of Projects 2014
The new year is right around the corner. Here are a few of Home. Made. Interest.’s Best Projects from 2014.
It’s been a big year for us. We started this little blog in March 2014 and thanks to all of your support we have grown by leaps and bounds. We have learned so much and had so much fun doing it! With 2014 coming to an end here is a look back at some of our favorite posts of 2014.
Melinda rounded up these awesome slow cooker recipes and it was one of our most popular posts of the year. It’s pretty clear why, all of the recipes look so good and nothing is better than putting something in a slow cooker at the beginning of the day and coming home to a meal when you get home.
This was one of our favorite projects. Melinda had her whole family put their hand and paw prints on a board and we added their names underneath with vinyl. This Hand Print Wall Art was such a fun way for her to capture a moment in time, those kids are growing up way too fast!
Our OREO acorn balls tasted as good as they looked and they were so easy to make!
If you’ve been reading the blog for awhile you know we are all about fancy presentations that make it look like we did a lot of work…even when we didn’t. These Pie shots are made with store bought pies but they still managed to impress at a holiday party.
We spent a lot of time filling up Melinda’s empty walls this year and I thought Melinda’s idea to use Latitudes and Longitudes for a special place to create a piece of art was so creative.
It wasn’t all about Melinda’s house though. I finally got around to building a built-in bookcase for my living room using Ikea Billy Bookcases. I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. It totally transformed the room!
Who doesn’t love a good upcycle project? I got swept up in the succulent trend this year and these cute little planters made the perfect holders for them.
We ended the year with some delicious recipes that we often serve to guests or enjoy with our families. I shared this cheesy Shrimp Casserole, a recipe my mom used to make on New Year’s Eve and has passed on to me. It is sooo good and serving it in these individual ramekins makes it perfect for an appetizer or small dish for a New Year’s Eve party.
Melinda shared her recipe for crab balls. It is simple and quick to make, perfect as a party appetizer because you can make them ahead of time and cook right before guests arrive!

Thank you so much for all of your support this year. We couldn’t have come this far without you and we have big things planned for 2015. We hope you have a very Happy New Year. See you in 2015!
