This Kitchen Spring Cleaning Checklist will help you get through deep cleaning your kitchen in no time!
We’re excited to partner with Viva®, Scott®, and Cottonelle® to get our Spring cleaning started! #SpringClean16 #Walmart
We’ve got tips for getting your Spring cleaning done in no time with a little help from our Quick Cleaning Checklist.
Alright, it is officially Spring! The kids are home on Spring break, the weather is beautiful, and I’ve been itching to throw open the windows to let in the fresh air and start my Spring cleaning. Then I remember that, the kids are home on Spring break, and gymnastics and soccer just started, and I know it’s going to be awhile before I have enough free time to do a deep cleaning.
That doesn’t mean I get to skip cleaning all together though. Easter is this weekend and I just found out I’m going to be having guests. We’re so excited to see everyone but with so much going on this week I really had to think about the best way to get a little Spring cleaning done with out a lot of time.
First I hit Walmart for all of the cleaning supplies I would need. You might remember the homemade wipes I shared with you last month. Thanks to them I don’t have to buy too many cleaning products but of course I loaded up on Viva® Towels and Viva® Vantage® because I use them for just about all of my cleaning. While I was there I also grabbed some Scott® and Cottonelle®, because in a house with 4 people and a bunch of weekend guests you can never have enough toilet paper. I know you’re thinking, why in the world does she buy two brands of toilet paper. We are a house divided. I like Cottonelle® whether it is their Ultra Comfort Care or Clean Care. They are both super soft and have Cottonelle’s CleanRipple Texture, that gives you that extra clean feeling. My husband prefers Scott® 1000. It is quality bathroom tissue and it has long-lasting value with 1000 sheets on each roll! To keep the peace I buy both brands and everyone stays happy :).
Alright, on to the cleaning. Once I got all of my supplies together I grabbed my Quick Cleaning Checklist and get to work. Guys, I LOVE lists. They totally make my day and I’m so motivated when I get to check things off as I go. I have lots of different cleaning lists and this is probably the one I use the most often. My Quick Cleaning Checklist is all of the things I need to do to give the house a good cleaning when I don’t have a lot of time. It targets the areas in my house that need the most help and hits all of the important parts. A deep Spring cleaning comes later, but checking off everything on this list gets the house in shape for surprise visitors!
Now that I have kids this list goes even faster because I put them to work! We start in the bathroom because it always needs a little love. My son gets Viva Towels to clean the mirror (with a little help from mom to reach the high spots) and sink. Viva Towels are smooth and soft enough to use on furniture, mirrors, and even hands and faces. I use Viva Vantage to wipe down the toilet and do a quick cleaning of the floor. Viva Vantage is my new favorite thing. It has a scrubby texture that is like terry cloth and they are strong enough for scrubbing down counters, sinks, stove tops, etc. I never need to use a sponge anymore! You don’t have to use both types of Viva Towels, they both get the job done but I think the different textures are great.
My youngest is 3 so she comes in behind us and stocks up the toilet paper. They’re never to young to get started, plus they both like getting to check their chores off the list. There is no denying they’re my kids!
In the living room we all pick up the toys and put everything away, then I do a quick dusting and my son gets all of the finger and nose prints off of the sliding glass door. When we’re done I run the vacuum really quick and we’re on to the kitchen.
The worst place in my kitchen is always the kitchen table. It is the dumping ground for mail, and homework, and pretty much everything else that comes in to the kitchen. The end that doesn’t have mail on it is usually sticky from a recent meal or from an afternoon of fun with playdough. I always start by getting my kitchen table and counters cleared off and then I wipe everything down with a paper towel. One of the things I love about Viva Towels is that they are so durable. I can use them, rinse, them and use them again. It saves me from going through a whole roll of paper towels when I’m on a cleaning spree. Once everything is wiped down I load the dishwasher and start it then give the floor a quick spot cleaning.
Last up is the entryway. It’s the first place my guests are going to see but luckily there isn’t much to do in there. I have the kids put away their coats and shoes and do a quick spot cleaning of the floor and…done! With help from the kiddos I can have the house clean and guest-ready in about an hour. Nothing makes me happier than seeing all of the boxes on my checklist marked off :).
I hope you’re inspired to start Spring cleaning even if you don’t have a lot of time. Download my quick clean checklist HERE and go for it!

Three Fall Printables that have a sampling of everything we love about Fall. Print your favorite out and frame it for quick and easy fall decor!
This summer has been abnormally cool for us. Not that I’m complaining, I have thoroughly enjoyed the low humidity and days in July and August that are cool enough to have your windows open, but yesterday I noticed that the leaves on some of the trees are already starting to turn from green to reds and yellows. Summer is near an end and in the words (kinda sorta) of Ned Stark, Fall is coming.
This Beach Printable is made for those of you who can’t think of anywhere they would rather be than the beach!
I love the beach! I could spend the whole summer there and still not get enough of it. Sadly, I don’t get to spend quite that much time laying in the sand and playing in the surf but I do make it down there for a few long weekends in the summer. The rest of the time I fulfill my need for surf and sand by decorating my house in a beach theme for summer. Melinda (who is also beach obsessed) and I have made this pretty Beach Block Set that is perfect for the mantle and I’m sharing a beach printable for all of you who love the hot sand, cool ocean and salty air, over at Typically Simple . Make sure to stop by, check it out, and say “Hi!”. While you’re there take a look at all of the great posts by Kelly and her other creative contributors :).
Where is your favorite place to be in the summer?
I’m going to let you in on a little secret, I’m terrible at making decisions. Decorating in my house takes forever because I think every decision to death before I make it. Sometimes this isn’t a bad thing, it has kept me from making a lot of mistakes, but it has also left me with a lot of blank walls in my house. I can never figure out exactly how I want to hang things, or what things to hang, so I wind up doing nothing. I’ve had an idea for a gallery wall in my kitchen for over a year now and I haven’t done anything about it, until today :).
