Halloween Spider Web String Art
Our Halloween Spider Web String Art makes the perfect creepy, but cute, addition to your Halloween decor.
The Wood Connection sent us their wooden Spider Web this month and I was so excited because I had the perfect idea for it. If you’ve been following along at home you know that I’ve been developing a bit of an addiction to string art, starting with my Hello Sunshine project this summer. It’s only gotten worse and at some point I’m going to have to make one of those deer head string art designs. I love them so much! Anyways, I knew as soon as I saw that wooden spider web that I wanted to do another string art project. Having the wood already cut out in the perfect shape made it so easy!
I started by painting the web black. I bought white 1″ nails at Home Depot and used those to follow the outline of the web. I put one at the top of each peak and one at the low spot between each peak to keep the shape of the web. I did this on the outer ring and the inner ring. Then I added my string. I used embroidery thread because it was just the right thickness. Just like with my last string art, I just went back and forth criss-crossing the string. There is no right or wrong way to do it just keep going until it looks good to you :).
After it was done I wanted to add a little something extra so I used a block of wood that had come with my Hello order from The Wood Connection, and painted it black to match the web. Then I cut out a border and “Welcome To Our Web” (Alice in Wonderland Font) in white vinyl using my Silhouette Cameo.
I couldn’t be happier with it and it was the first Halloween decoration to make it onto my mantel this year!
