Just a few more days and we’ll be in the new year! Exciting isn’t it? I am really looking forward to getting together with family and friends and starting 2017. I love appetizers on New Year’s Eve and I still haven’t made up my mind on what I’ll be making. Mini Crab Cake Bites, Mini Lasagna Rolls, Philly Cheesesteak Sliders? So many bite size appetizers to choose from it’s just about impossible to decide! I’m not having nearly as much trouble deciding what drink I’m starting the new year with. This Orange Pomegranate Crush is citrus mixed with the sweetness of pomegranate and a bit of fizz to make a pretty, delicious, drink that is going to have us all raising a glass to welcome 2017 🙂

It’s a really easy drink recipe that starts with fresh pomegranate arils (seeds) in a glass. You use a muddler to crush the arils against the bottom of the glass and then you add ice, orange vodka, triple sec, juice from a freshly squeezed orange (you can substitute orange juice from the carton if you need to), and a splash of lemon lime soda. Take a few of your leftover pomegranate arils and use them to garnish the drink along with a slice of orange. It’s a beautiful, refreshing, simple drink that is as good in the winter as it is in the summer.
