Peanut Butter and Jelly Tacos
These easy Peanut Butter and Jelly Tacos are a simple lunchbox idea for kids that keeps school lunches fun!
The school year just started and we’re already all falling back into our fall routines. Mornings can be hectic, making lunches needs to be quick and easy. Since peanut butter and jelly is one of those things that my kids both agree on, we eat a lot of it, especially during the school year. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are simple to make and are a perfect for lunchboxes. That means I have to find ways to keep them fun so the kids don’t get tired of them! I’ve tried all sorts of interesting ways to serve up PB&J but these Peanut Butter and Jelly Tacos are my kids’ current favorite (I’m kind of in love with them too!).

These fun little Peanut Butter and Jelly Tacos start off with the three key ingredients for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Bread, Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter, and Smucker’s® Strawberry Jam. I’ve started buying the 40 oz. Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter and the 32 oz. Smucker’s® Strawberry Jam when I’m at Walmart because my family goes through them so fast! Now, before we even get started let’s get this out of the way. I know some of you are going to argue that grape jelly is the way to go but in my house we all agree strawberry jam is amazing. Especially mixed with the fresh strawberries and blueberries that are our Peanut Butter and Jelly Taco toppings.
The tacos are simple to make. Find a glass with an opening big enough to cut a large circle out of a slice of bread without cutting into the crust (if you have a round cookie cutter that is big enough that is perfect!). Press the rim of the glass into the bread like a cookie cutter and cut out a circle. Use the side of your glass, or a rolling pin, and lightly roll over the bread flattening it slightly. Don’t go crazy, you don’t want smoosh the bread too much! Then spread some Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter on each piece of bread and top it with some Smucker’s® Strawberry Jam.
Fold the bread up into a taco and top it with chopped strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, banana, etc.. Whatever fruits you and your kids like. If you want to get really fancy you can drizzle a little melted chocolate or white chocolate over the top or add some mini chocolate chips or marshmallows. Just like a real taco the sky is the limit for the toppings on these Peanut Butter and Jelly Tacos. Customize them any way you like, place them in a sandwich bag and tuck them into your kids lunchbox. If you’re using fruit that is watery you can put the fruit in a small airtight container instead of sprinkling it over the sandwich. That way the kids can add their open toppings to their PB&J Taco and you don’t have to worry about the bread getting soggy. Lunch has never been so fun and with 7 grams of protein in Jif® Peanut Butter it is a great way for kids to “Power Their Day.” There is nothing like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich to give you that little burst of energy you need to make it through the last few hours of a long school day!
