Shark Jell-O
Get ready for Shark Week with these fun Shark Jell-O bowls!
Yep, it’s that time again the Discovery Channel’s Shark Week starts Sunday June 26th and runs through July 3rd!!! This is one of my families favorite summer events. My kids (ok us adults too!) are obsessed with all things shark and we can’t get enough of all of the cool shows that are on throughout the week. Their brains are like little sponges so they suck up everything they learn about sharks and I get to hear all about tiger sharks and great whites for weeks after Shark Week is over :).
In preparation for the premiere the kids helped me make this super simple, but super cute Shark Jell-O. It is filled with layers of gummy sharks swimming around the bowl beneath our unsuspecting teddy bear graham cracker. The kids thought it was hilarious and they can’t wait to dig in! It was an easy process but I’m not going to pretend it didn’t take a little time. If you want the sharks on different layers like I did then you start by pouring in a layer of Jell-O in the bottom, adding some gummy sharks then putting it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes until it begins to firm up. When it is solid enough to put the next layer of gummy sharks in repeat the steps and keep doing this until you reach the top. It takes some patience but it is fun! Just pick an afternoon while you are watching Shark Week shows and jump up and run to the kitchen every 30 minutes OR if you don’t want to wait just fill a bowl up with Jell-O and toss a few gummy sharks in then let the Jell-O firm up. Done! Oh and don’t forget that cute little bear on top. I used a gummy ring and a Teddy Graham with a drink umbrella poked into the ring. Cute, cute, cute!
That’s not all of the cool Shark Week projects! Some of our awesome blogger friends are sharing all sorts of fun things to do. Make sure you check all of them out!
