Simple Easter Bunny Banner
Hippity-Hoppity Easter’s on it’s way! Our Easter Bunny Banner uses scrapbook paper and twine to make an adorable Easter decoration.
Today is the official first day of Spring! Woohoo! Of course here in Maryland it snowed today 🙁 . That’s ok though, I’m not going to let it get me down, Spring is here, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it! With Spring comes Easter, which is really early this year. I pulled out my Easter mantle decorations last weekend and started adding a little Spring to the house. Including a new Easter Bunny Banner that Melinda and I just made.
Isn’t it super cute? We started out with this idea from Creations by Kara and used a bunny design and different color scrapbook paper instead of her egg shape and book pages. It only took Melinda and I about 30 minutes to make and that was mostly just time spent cutting out the different shapes. We used our trusty Silhouette but the shapes are definitely simple enough you can cut them out by hand. I’ve included a file at the bottom with the banner and the bunny shapes to help you out.
You can use any combination of scrapbook paper colors and patterns. We went with solid color bunnies and polka dot banners. To make the bunnies look 3D we cut out two bunny shapes for each banner piece. We folded one bunny in half, put glue along the edge of the fold and then glued it to the center of the flat bunny shape. Then we glued the bunny down to the banner piece. We used a hole punch to put holes in each of the upper corners of the banner pieces and threaded a piece of twine through them. Done!
I love how it turned out. The colors look great together and it totally brightens up the room. Put up Easter decorations, check! Now I just have to decide if I’m going to make that Cadbury Egg cake that Melinda showed me…
