This easy Slow Cooker Pizza Soup is a delicious crock pot tomato soup with all of the spices that give it that pizza sauce flavor.
One more week before my kiddos head back to school. Where did the summer go?! I’m not sure if any of us are ready to start getting up early in the morning and coming home to an afternoon of homework. Summers are pretty busy for us but the school year is a whole new ball game. Going to school in the morning, picking up the kids from school in the afternoon, doing homework, running back and forth between sport practices. It’s a crazy time of year. In preparation I’ve been gathering up my arsenal of slow cooker recipes, one pot meals, and easy casseroles so I can keep the family without having to spend a lot of time cooking.
Now, because I’m a mom and I want the best for my kids I try to make better-for-you choices for my family whenever I can. That means when I go grocery shopping I do my best to pick out organic ingredients and Giant Food Stores make it really easy to do that with their Nature’s Promise® organic products. Nature’s Promise® Free from food products are free from things like artificial colors, artificial flavors, and artificial preservatives. Nature’s Promise® is also an affordable way to eat organic. Save a little money next time you’re shopping at Giant and load offers for Nature’s Promise Products to your Giant card HERE (Using mobile? Click here to load offers).
Today’s recipe is one of my kids’ favorites, easy Slow Cooker Pizza Soup! This is a simple recipe that starts with a tomato soup seasoned with all of the spices you’d find in your favorite pizza sauce. The pizza sauce base is made with organic ingredients from Nature’s Promise®. Crushed Tomatoes with Basil, tomato paste, chicken broth, fresh basil, dried oregano, garlic, onion powder, and a little salt to bring it all together. Everything goes into the slow cooker and you can leave it cooking on low all day while you run errands and pick up kids. When you get home, before you start homework, throw in 2-3 cups of Nature’s Promise® shredded mozzarella cheese so it can get all melty.
Now, if you’re a cheese pizza fan you can stop there. The soup is perfect just the way it is but, if you’re like me and you like a little more on you pizza than just plain ol’ cheese drop in any of your favorite toppings. I’m a fan of supreme pizza so in this version I added mushrooms, bell peppers, Italian sausage and pepperonis. It’s totally up to you how you want to make your pizza soup so have fun with it!
Once the cheese and toppings are in let it continue cooking for 30 minutes to an hour. That gives you just enough time to wrap up homework before sitting everyone down at the table for dinner. Serve it up with some homemade pizza dough breadsticks and you’ve got pizza in a bowl! I’m telling you guys this is going to be a family favorite. My kids can’t get enough of this soup (and neither can I!).

My husband loves soup! I’ll have to make this for him! ????
Thanks for the recipe
Michelle
Making this tonight for dinner. I also added red pepper flakes, Sweet Italian sausage, onions, red and green bell peppers and mushrooms. Smells delicious. Fingers crossed.
Yum! What time should we be over 😉
Do you need to cook the sausage before putting it in the soup??
Yes, the way the recipe is written all of the toppings you add at the end are fully cooked. If you would like to add the sausage during the cooking process you can lightly brown it and then add it to the slow cooker with the tomatoes and spices to cook the entire time.
That looks amazing and I will be trying this week. Do you have a recipe for those delicious looking breadsticks in the picture please?
Thanks!
We’ve actually never shared the breadstick recipe but we should. I used store bought pizza dough, rolled it out to about 1 inch thick and cut it into strips. Then I brushed it with butter and baked at 425F for 15 minutes (or until golden brown). When they came out of the oven I brushed a little more melted butter on top and sprinkled with Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese.
Thanks so much! I do believe you should share that as I searched your site and couldn’t find them. Bread sticks have always been a favorite of mine.
