What is a Mojito?

The mojito, originating from Cuba, is a timeless classic. Traditionally made with white rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water, and mint, it’s known for its refreshing taste. However, with an increasing trend towards non-alcoholic beverages and a love for fruity flavors, the virgin strawberry mojito recipe made without alcohol, known as the strawberry mojito mocktail, was born.

Instructions

This strawberry mojito mocktail recipe is a non-alcoholic drink that is simple to make. In just a few simple steps you’ll have a refreshing drink to enjoy.

Step 1 – Prepping the Ingredients. Wash and hull the strawberries. Rinse the fresh mint leaves gently and pat them dry. Cut the lime into wedges.

Step 2 – Muddling to Perfection. In a sturdy glass, combine strawberries, sugar or artificial sweetener, and mint leaves. Now muddle. This refers to the process of mashing the ingredients together to release the flavors, ensuring they meld beautifully. I use a muddler but you can also use a fork or the back of a spoon.

Step 4 – Top It Up. Pour in the club soda or sparkling water, filling the glass. Add a squeeze of lime juice and stir to mix everything together.

Step 5 – Garnish and Serve. Garnish with a strawberry slice, a sprig of mint, or a lime wedge, and voilà! Your refreshing strawberry mojito mocktail is ready to be served.
