Cranberry Orange French Toast

Ingredients

French Toast

  • 8 slices White bread thick
  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • Zest from ½ an Orange

Cranberry-Orange Syrup

  • 1/4 cup Cranberry sauce
  • 1 cup Cranberries fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup Corn syrup
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • 1 tablespoon Orange zest

Instructions

French Toast

  • Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange zest, and sugar together and pour into a shallow container.
  • Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Dip bread in egg mixture and drop into a skillet frying slices until golden brown, then flip to cook the other side.
  • Set the slices to the side as they are finished.
  • Plate french toast, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and pour Cranberry-Orange sauce over it.
  • Enjoy!

Cranberry-Orange Syrup

  • Add all ingredients to a small pot and bring to a boil over medium high heat stirring continuously.
  • Simmer for 5-10 minutes until it thickens.
  • Let cool slightly before pouring over french toast.
