Thanksgiving Leftovers Sandwich
This Thanksgiving Leftovers Sandwich is everything you love about Thanksgiving between two slices of bread!
Everyone is looking forward to Thanksgiving right? Turkey, stuffing (or dressing if you’re a southerner like me!), mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce. Yum!! I’m ready for turkey dinner right now! Thanksgiving recipes are amazing but I may actually like Thanksgiving leftovers even better. We do Thanksgiving in the early afternoon in my family so we can lay around for awhile and then head back for round two for dinner.
This Thanksgiving Leftovers Sandwich is one of my favorite things. I always put white bread on my Thanksgiving grocery list because when I go in for round two I want to pile my whole Thanksgiving dinner together for the ultimate Thanksgiving leftovers recipe. It starts with a few thick slices of turkey, then you pile on the mashed potatoes and stuffing, and you top everything with some sweet cranberry sauce. You can add a little gravy and serve the sandwich open-face but I like to slap the top piece of bread on it and chow down old school sandwich style. Look at that sandwich! Don’t you just want to take a big bite?!
If you want you can even save a little of everything in the freezer and put this sandwich together a week or so after Thanksgiving. It’s so good and it totally fills in that gap between Thanksgiving and Christmas. So what do you think? Are you going to be making one of these Turkey Leftover Sandwiches the day after Thanksgiving or do you have a Thanksgiving leftovers recipe of your own that is your favorite? Don’t forget to save a slice or two of Pecan Slab Pie or maybe a piece of Pecan Pie Cake Roll for dessert. It’ll be like Thanksgiving dinner all over again ;).
