2 tablespoons Salted Butter ¼ cup Yellow Onion, diced ½ cup Milk 1 tablespoon Flour 5 cups Corn Kernels, frozen, canned, or fresh ¼ teaspoon Salt 1/8 teaspoon Ground black pepper ½ cup Heavy Cream
Ingredients
Melt butter. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
Saute onions. Add the diced onion and cook for 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften.
Thickener. In a small bowl whisk together the milk and flour.
Put it all together. Add the corn, black pepper, salt, heavy cream, and milk mixture. Continue to cook, stirring often, until the mixture begins to thicken. Approximately 5-7 minutes.
Serve. Serve hot.
WHAT KIND OF CORN IS USED TO MAKE CREAMED CORN? One of the great things about Creamed Corn is that is isn’t a fussy dish. You can use fresh sweet corn, frozen corn, or canned corn. I like to use frozen corn because I always have it on hand.
