Something Different – Dutch Baby Recipe
A Dutch Baby is a light, fluffy, not-too-sweet alternative to pancakes. This simple recipe is sure to please all of the breakfast-lovers in your house.
A Dutch Baby is one of my breakfast-loving sweetie’s favorite things on Sunday mornings…ok let’s be real, any day ending in a “Y”. They are big and puffy and you cover them in powdered sugar with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, yum! They are also simple to make and, they bake in the oven which means less time flipping pancakes and more time to make bacon! 😉
I’m sharing my Dutch Baby recipe over at Real Housemoms so make sure to stop by and take a look!
I am going to have to check this out.. looks very fancy!
Thanks Lauren, I always feel like a fancy chef when that big, puffy pancake comes out of the oven, LOL

I love Dutch Baby! I’ve never known anyone besides my mom to make it. It was a special treat growing up. I should probably learn how to make it myself.
I couldn’t believe how simple the recipe was when I first started making them. Simple but delicious!
We love Dutch Babies! My mother-in-law showed me how to make them 23 years ago and they are still a favorite. My family loves them with powered sugar and even syrup.
I like mine with syrup too…but Rick is a purest. Powdered sugar and lemon juice only.
A few years ago while visiting a friend she made this for breakfast and I was immediately smitten and I’ve made it several times since. It’s always so impressive to serve guests for breakfast or brunch, and it’s unbelievably easy! Your’s looks absolutely amazing!
Thanks Doreen, it is nice to have such a simple but beautiful recipe when I need to feel all fancy in the kitchen 😉

Yum, yum. Is this the same thing as a German Pancake? When we have German Pancakes we often top them with lemon juice and powdered sugar and they are a baked pancake. This looks absolutely delicious and I’m thrilled to see that you brought it to The Yuck Stops Here this week. With your help I’m sure we’ll be able to #stoptheyuck EVERYWHERE! HUGS
Yep, we called them german pancakes in our house!
