Ham and Cheese Tater Tot Skewers are an easy appetizer recipe with layers of ham and tater tots skewered together and drizzled with creamy american cheese.
Alright guys, the holidays are over (but Valentine’s Day is just around the corner!), the new year is here and right now my weekends are all about football! Whether we’re having friends over for a little homegating or we’re watching the game on our own I love making a few fun game day appetizers that we can snack on while we’re cheering on our team. After I made those Cheeseburger Tots the other day (totally amazeballs!) I had tater tots leftover and I thought it would be a shame to let them go to waste. Say hello to Ham and Cheese Tater Tot Skewers!
They are super easy to make which means they are perfect for game day entertaining. All you need are some cooked tater tots, ham strips and American cheese. I cooked my tater tots first until they were nice and crisp and then I put them on a skewer alternating them with ham. I had ham slices to work with so I cut the ham into strips and then folded them and placed them on the skewer sandwiched in between tots. Ham cubes would also work great! I finished everything off with a creamy cheese sauce that I drizzled over the skewers right before serving.
Cheese sauce makes everything better don’t you think? Just take a look at those skewers. Crisp, golden tater tots, delicious ham, and creamy cheese…you really don’t get much better. The kids loved these, I loved these, and the day I made them our team won so I now have to continue making them through the playoffs and hopefully for the Super Bowl!
