steps to make Peach Cream Cheese Danish

How to Make Peach Cream Cheese Danish:

  1. In a medium bowl mix cream cheese, confectioner’s sugar, and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.
  2. Unfold a thawed puff pastry sheet and roll it out into a rectangle that is ¼ inch thick.
  3. Cut into 6 equal rectangles and lightly score the puff pastry pieces by drawing a smaller rectangle within each one. This creates a “ring” around the outside of each piece that will puff up.
  4. Use a fork to prick the middle of each puff pastry piece several times so it does not rise like the outer ring will.
  5. Spread about 1 tablespoon of sweetened cream cheese in the center of each puff pastry.
  6. Top with a thin layer of peach preserves.
  7. Finish by topping preserves with 2 slices of fresh peaches.
  8. Make a simple egg wash by mixing the egg and water together, and brush the egg wash around the outer edge of the puff pastry.
  9. Place in a 400 F oven to bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. While the pastry bakes make the glaze by mixing the confectioner’s sugar, milk, and vanilla together in a bowl.
  11. Once the pastry is cooked and has cooled to room temperature drizzle the glaze over the pastries and enjoy!

Can I Use Frozen Peaches?

Yes! If you can’t get your hands on fresh peaches you can use frozen peach slices. Make sure they are unsweetened peaches. Thaw the frozen peach slices and pat them dry with a paper towel before adding them to the danish.

Can I Make Peach Cream Cheese Danish Ahead of Time?

This is one recipe that I don’t recommend making ahead of time. Though you can keep the pastries for up to 3 days after baking they taste the best when they are fresh. To save yourself some time you can make the sweetened cream cheese mixture the day before along with the glaze. Everything else should be done when you’re ready to bake.
