Homemade Taco Seasoning
This easy Homemade Taco Seasoning recipe is a mild taco seasoning for ground beef or chicken. You can make this DIY taco seasoning in bulk and use it in your Tex-Mex dishes. Homemade Taco Seasoning is even low carb!
Taco seasoning is probably my most used spice mix. Most of my life I used the taco seasoning packets you find at the grocery store, but about 5 years ago, when I started doing low carb and really reading the ingredients in things I realized how many extra things are added to commercial taco seasoning, like silicone dioxide, and cornstarch, that up the carbs and have nothing to do with flavor. That’s when I started making my own homemade taco seasoning mix!

I am wondering how much meat will this season?
This is enough for 4 pound of meat.
How much water do you mix 2 tablespoons of seasoning with? 2/3 cups?
Hi Breanna, I usually just sprinkle the seasoning over my meat and let it all cook together but if you want you can add 1/4 cup of water to the browned ground beef, or cooked chicken and then sprinkle in the taco seasoning and let it all simmer together until the water is mostly evaporated.
Is the taco seasoning mix for 1lb of hamburger?
This makes approximately 8 tablespoons. A serving size is 2 tablespoons.
