Mini Edible Carrots
These Mini Edible Carrots are easy to make and such a cute addition to your Easter dessert recipes!
I love cooking and baking and coming up with new recipes that taste amazing, but I also love making food that is colorful, pretty, and sometimes, just darn cute! Melinda has been on a doughnut baking spree lately and she has come up with some pretty darn awesome recipes. Mini Lemon Poppy Seed donuts, Hot Cocoa Donuts, and she’ll be sharing her newest Easter doughnut recipe on Real Housemoms next week.
They are so good and she and I dressed them up for the holidays with these adorable mini edible carrots. They only took a few minutes to make but they were the perfect addition to our Easter dessert. To make them you’ll need orange Starburst, and green Laffy Taffy. Cut the orange Starburst in half and use your fingers to gently mold it into a carrot shape.
Then, using a sharp knife, cut a strip from the green taffy and then slice small pieces from the strip. Put three pieces together and then using the tip of your knife press the bottom of your carrot greens into the top of the carrot.
Aren’t they so cute?! They are the perfect finishing touch on any carrot cake dessert :). You’re not limited to carrots either. You can use other colors to make apples, bananas, oranges, etc.. Just a word of warning though, if you are placing them on a dessert with frosting don’t put them on until just before you are ready to serve them. I put them on a few of Melinda’s donuts and they were fine during the day but by morning the candy carrots’ colors had started to bleed into the frosting.
Make your Easter a little more fun with these adorable mini edible carrots!!

What a great idea using chewy sweets! I never would have thought of using them to make such cute little toppers.
Who knew candy could be so cute! This is brilliant and will make our Easter treat even more special! Thanks!
