Ingredients You’ll Need
- Salmon: A popular fatty fish known for its rich flavor and high content of omega-3 fatty acids, protein, and essential nutrients.
- Olive Oil: You’ll just need a small amount to oil the pan.
- Oranges: You’ll need whole orange to juice for the orange juice in the glaze. Make sure to save one to cut into slices. You’ll add these to the salmon before baking.
- Brown Sugar: This helps to balance the saltiness of the soy sauce and to thicken the glaze.
- Soy Sauce: The saltiness from the soy sauce balances perfectly with the sweetness of the sugar and the sweet tangy flavor of oranges.
- Salt and Pepper: Salt and pepper bring out all of the flavors in the dish.
Step-by-Step Cooking Instructions
Step 1- Prepare oven. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
Step 2 – Prepare pan. Grease the bottom of a baking sheet with the olive oil. See Note 1
Step 3 – Prepare salmon. Rub the salmon fillets with the salt and pepper.
Step 4 – Make glaze. In a small saucepan combine the orange juice, brown sugar and soy sauce. Bring to a boil and cook liquid until reduced by half.
Step 5 – Cool glaze. Once the glaze has reduced remove it from the heat and let it cool for 5-10 minutes. This will allow it to thicken.
Step 6 – Glaze. Pour the glaze over the salmon and place the fresh orange slices on the salmon.
Step 7 – Cook. Bake the salmon for about 15 minutes, or until the fish is done to your liking. You can flip the oranges over halfway through if they look like they are burning. You will know the salmon is ready when it easily flakes apart with a fork and the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees F.

How to Store and Reheat
To store and reheat your glazed salmon, first let the salmon cool to room temperature, then transfer it to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
For reheating, gently warm the salmon in a preheated oven at 275°F (135°C) for about 15 minutes, or until heated through, to preserve its moisture and flavor or microwave for 1-2 minutes.
What to Serve with Glazed Salmon

I have always wanted to use blood oranges in a dish, but I never knew how to use them. Thanks for the recipe! [client]
This recipe looks so delectable – I would have never thought of using blood orange juice! I don’t get to buy fresh seafood too often, but I’d love to try this next time I do! Thanks for sharing this, found you at Linky Palooza!
Looks fabulous but your instructions contradict themselves. You set the oven to broil and then bake it. You don’t bake things at broil. We’re just guessing at the oven temp- wish us luck!
We cooked it under the broiler on a rack that was about 8 inches from the heating element.
