This Buffalo Chicken Cheese Ball makes a great party time snack!
It’s basketball season! Does everyone have their brackets filled out? I don’t think I’ll be winning the office pool this year but I still love watching the games. We usually watch them with a few friends on the weekends so I’m always looking for new game time snack ideas. One of my new favorites is a buffalo chicken cheese ball.
I usually make buffalo chicken dip for parties but since we’re all about basketball right now I wanted to come up with something to go with the theme. The buffalo chicken cheese ball is simple to make, round and orange, perfect when we have basketball on the brain. Even better you can make it a day ahead of time so it is ready to go when guests arrive. It’s a simple recipe, hot sauce, shredded chicken, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese mixed together then rolled into a ball. Yum! It is just the right amount of spicy. I sliced up some black olives and placed them on the cheeseball in a basketball pattern to finish it off!
Since ranch and buffalo chicken go together so well I served my cheese ball with Zesty Cheddar Ranch Cheez-It Grooves. I’ve loved Cheez-Its since I was little, they were a snack that my grandma always had in her pantry when we went to visit her so I was pretty excited to try some of the new products Cheez-Its has out right now. Cheez-It Grooves are bigger than the original Cheez-Its and awesome with a little smear of cheesy buffalo chicken on them! When I was in Walmart buying my Cheez-It Grooves I also found Cheez-It Crunch’d (they are in the chip aisle!) and grabbed a bag of Cheddar Cheese Cheez-It Crunch’d to add to my snack table. They are pretty much a cheesy poof version of a Cheez-It so yea, they were awesome.
I’m not gonna lie, sometimes I go a little overboard for parties, I can’t help it I love setting up a cute table for all of the food. When I found a mini basketball net at the craft store I knew I wanted to make something with it. I wound up wrapping the Cheez-It Grooves box in white kraft paper and using strips of scrapbook paper to draw out a backboard and a pole. Then I punched a hole in the box and pushed the net into it.
It was the perfect backdrop for my buffalo chicken

If you love Cheez-It as much as I do make sure to check out the Most Valuable Cheese Contest that is taking place from Feb – April 2015. Users can vote on their favorite flavors/varieties from six popular Cheez-It flavors and play games for a chance to win $10,000!!
Hope you do better with your bracket picks than I did! 😉
