How to Make Chicken Wings in the Air Fryer
Step 1 – Dry chicken. Pat the excess moisture from chicken drumettes and wingettes with a paper towel and place them on a baking sheet or cutting board.
Step 2 – Season. Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper.
Step 3 – Add chicken. Place chicken in a single layer the air fryer basket and cook at 380 degrees F for 25 minutes. Flip the wings over halfway through.
Step 4 – Crisp. After 25 minutes turn heat up to 400 degrees F and continue to cook for 5 minutes or until skin is crispy.
Step 5 – Toss in sauce. Remove the crispy wings from the fryer basket and place them in a large bowl. Pour the sauce over the chicken wings and toss them until well coated. If you are serving a large party or have multiple flavored sauces to try, you may want to leave the wings dry and serve the sauces on the side as dips.
Step 6 – Serve. Serve with ranch dressing, blue cheese dressing, carrots, and celery.

You can stick with traditional buffalo or try a variety of flavors like honey BBQ, mango habanero, or garlic parmesan. The sky is the limit as far as flavors go!
Choose your favorite dry rubs and sauces and make several batches of crispy chicken wings for your next party!
How Many Wings Can I Cook in the Air Fryer?
This can vary depending on the size of your air fryer. I used a Cosori 5 quart air fryer which has a 5 pound capacity. Most air fryers should be able to handle 2 pounds of wings without a problem.
Just make sure to remove the air fryer tray halfway through and toss the wings so they get rotated during the cooking process.
How Long to Cook Chicken Wings in the Air Fryer?
You can have delicious, crispy wings in only 30 minutes!
Can I Cook Frozen Wings in the Air Fryer?
Yes! No more trying to remember to defrost the chicken the day before. You can add 5 minutes to the initial 25 minute cooking time for a total of 35 minutes for perfect crispy air fryer chicken wings!
Are Air Fryer Chicken Wings Crispy?
Yes, very crispy. Air fryers circulate the hot air around the wings as they cook, which helps to dry out and crisp up the outside of the chicken. I find them to be much crispier than wings cooked in the oven.
Are Air Fryer Chicken Wings Keto?
Yes! The wings themselves are keto, just chicken wings with a little salt and pepper. Add our buffalo wing sauce and you still have a great keto appetizer or dinner.
Some sauce or dry rubs may contain sugar so make sure you read the label before adding to your wings!

If I cook from frozen can I season at start, the wings aren’t wet?
I suggest seasoning them halfway through. You can start them in the air fryer and halfway through (when you’re taking them out to turn them) pour out the excess water that will be in the bottom of the basket, and toss the salt and pepper on the wings. Then stick them back int he air fryer and keep cooking. Note: they may take an extra 5 minutes in the air fryer since they are frozen.
What do we do with the Butter ? LOL I knew but you might want to use it in your actual recipe. This is how I’ve been doing it forever it’s a Great Buffalo Wing Taste I like it wit a little Marzetti’s Blue Cheese Dressing. I highly recommend it Thank You
