Ingredients You’ll Need
- Slider buns – We use Hawaiian rolls for all of the best slider recipes but you can use any brand you like.
- Ground Beef – 80/20 ground beef should be fully cooked and drained to remove the excess liquid.
- Onion – diced sweet onion or white onion is cooked with the ground beef to give it a boost of flavor.
- Pickle – What’s a burger without pickles? We use dill pickled for our Big Mac sliders.
- American Cheese – I know this one can be controversial but if you are going to make a copycat McDonald’s slider then you have to use sliced American cheese!
- Condiments – Ketchup, yellow mustard, mayonnaise, and dill pickle relish are used on the sliders and in the Big Mac sauce.
- Seasonings – Paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt season the meat and the Big Mac sauce.
- Sesame seeds – These are sprinkled on top to give that classic burger appearance.
- Butter – Brush the melted butter over the tops of the buns to help them brown and to allow the sesame seeds to stick.
- White wine vinegar – this vinegar is whisked into the Big Mac sauce to give it that tangy flavor.

How to Make Big Mac Sliders
The beauty of these sliders is in their simplicity. Unlike the traditional burger, there’s no need to form individual patties, making the preparation process a breeze.
Step 1 – Cook onions. In a large skillet over medium high heat add diced onions and cook for 3 minutes.
Step 2 – Brown beef. Add ground beef and salt and continue to cook until meat is cooked through and onions are translucent. Drain grease from beef.
Step 3 – Prepare oven. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 4 – Prepare buns. Cut slider buns in half separating the tops from the bottoms. Set the tops of the buns to the side. Place bottom buns on a baking sheet.
Step 5 – Layer 1. Spread beef and onion mixture over the bottom buns.
Step 6 – Layer 2. Using 7 slices of cheese create a layer of American cheese over the beef.
Step 7 – Layer 3. Place the pickle slices over the cheese. Drizzle with ketchup, mustard, and secret sauce.
Step 8 – Top. Place top buns on top of everything.
Step 9 – Bake. Cover the sliders with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes.
Step 10 – Toppings. Remove foil and brush buns with melted butter and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake for another 5 minutes or until cheese is completely melted.
Step 11 – Serve. Remove from oven and serve hot.

Effortless Party Prep: Tips for Success

- Cheese Varieties: Not a fan of American cheese? Swap it out for shredded cheddar to tailor the sliders to your taste preferences.

Had to come back to say thankyou, these were amazing! So easy and super popular!
I’m so glad you liked them!!
First of all, Thank you! I made these and they where a big hit!. 5 star for sure. I did use Velveeta slices. Next time I’ll use half slices. Too much cheese vs. meat on these little sliders. I did not add the to extra mustard as there was enough mustard flavor for us in the “special sauce”. We will definitely be having these on a regular basis. Can also use regular size hamburger buns also. Great flavor. Better than Big Macs, in my opinion.
So glad you liked them! I’m all about that secret sauce!
Just thru them in the oven
I just want clarity on what type of slider buns to use? Would Hawaiian sweet buns work?
Can’t wait to try the recipe!
Yes Angie, King’s Hawaiian sweet rolls will work for all of our slider recipes. Those are my favorite, yum!
These were really good. I love how simple they are, yet different from your standard cheeseburger. My family loved them, making them again today! Thank you for sharing!
I made these & they turned out awesome!! One of my née favs!! 🙌🏼
Turned out GREAT! Of course, it doesn’t hurt that Big Macs are my fave fast food burger! I did some with just the secret sauce and some with the secret sauce and ketchup/mustard drizzled. They were sucha hit for Super Bowl!
These were super delicious!! Definitely a keeper in my book!
These are so easy to prep ahead and then then only take minutes to pull together. I have made them for many gatherings!
Can I put all of this together in the afternoon to be baked 5 or so hours later? Would it be too soggy later? Perhaps having it all ready to assemble would be better? Curious if these have been tried.
I prefer to have it all ready to assemble and then assembling right before baking. I suggest warming the meat in the microwave for a minute (doesn’t have to be hot just warm) so that everything heats through in the oven in the amount of time listed in the recipe.
